Match Heading into Extra Time
The highly anticipated match between Senegal and Belgium has taken an exciting turn, with the score tied 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes on Wednesday, prompting the teams to engage in an additional 30 minutes of play.
The extra time period will comprise two 15-minute halves, and if the score remains even after this extension, the outcome will be decided by a penalty shootout, determining which team will advance to the round of 16.
Senegal initially took a 2-0 lead courtesy of goals from Habib Diarra and Ismaïla Sarr, but Belgium staged a dramatic comeback in the final minutes of regulation. Substitute Romelu Lukaku scored in the 86th minute, and Youri Tielemans equalized just three minutes later, in the 89th minute.
